It is my understanding that the Saturday and Sunday comics are supernumery to the regular comic. Saturday is just a gag strip based on the Star Pirates game and involves a few of the regulars. And the Sunday strip is just some of the other goings on with characters that aren’t seen often. They aren’t part of the regular plot lines.
My understanding is that in order to have more successful forays and rescues, you need to research those engines. Since I got my engine base stat to 250+, and I run 2 C5DUs, that’s Class V Drive Units for non Star Pirates players, my foray and rescue success percentages have been on the rise.
Anyone can tow you anywhere. It’s a (relatively) new feature to the game: when you succeed at a rescue, a random port (accessible by both of you according to your level) is chosen; you both end up there. And yes, the rewards are great… especially if the person you rescue is significantly higher in level than you.
A lvl26 I was hunting down on Saturday got chased off by security and was then towed to P&C, which surprised the frak out of me.
I guess it’s possible they were cloaked, but they were showing cargo at one point, so the timing would have been really tight.
As one who has done a good deal of rescues of people “lost” in space, I can tell that it really pays off well to do them, especially since the rescued people often are generous with rum and cargo… just try and avoid disposing them on Uranus
Are the events of LG:Star Pirates supposed to have occurred before where the main story is now?

this is correct.
A lot of salvage forays I go on I get the message “This salvage foray was a failure.” Seems to be a regular dice roll.

I *think* members of your fleet can tow you to other ports.

I thought you weren’t supposed to drop them off at Neptune, not Uranus…
yeah it is a good idea to rescue people who are adrift. the rewards are definitely worth it.
i like the special effects they capture whats going on quite well.
That’s some fine looking lightning.
