Actually in Starpirates you can attack other members of your fleet during sunspots … which wreak havok with the sensors and misidentify targets… kind of a tradition in some fleets …
So thats not really a good vengance method. You could leave the fleet to attack them , providing you were wiling to take that sacrifice or had a way back in (probably through friends and/or bribery). If you both wanted vengence on eact other it would probably be a good method. You could even rope in some lackeys that way too.
Leaving the fleet of course has the caveat that items on loan from the fleet automatically get returned to the fleet, so no grabbing their tech and then ambushing them with it!
So if you were hoping that fleet-owned graviton beam array would be yours, sorry, no!

They do need to agree to be in the mini-war however…
