In the last panel I wanted it to look like Johnny was banging his head on the console, rather than looking over it.  I don’t feel like I succeeded in this at all.

  1. Synan says:

The looking over at the console still work, and it’s just as funny. But it carries a bit of a darker tone. Still great as always.

  2. MTB says:

Could be seen as Johnny checking the transporter settings – just to make sure …

  3. Kaian says:

The head to flat surface impact. . . Yeah that sums up visits by the parents to work.

    • DrLegostar says:

Actually when I was in Grad School, my parents came to visit and my dad gave a talk to the department. Of course he was in a similar field and has good research. But that doesn’t make for the funny, so I go with horribly inaccurate exaggerations.

  4. Mark says:

    Waitaminnit… this is confusing.

I know that some people from Scotland sometimes say a word that sounds like “canna” to people in North America when they are actually saying the word “cannot”, and until today I had been reading this comic thinking that the transporter chief had a Scottish accent (parodying, presumably, an engineer on one of the many tv shows that LG makes fun of). But this particular comic makes no sense when you read it that way.

I’m so confused… in some places, he talks like a Scotsman (eg, “Auch, Aye”) and now here it’s something else entirely.
