This comic is now as long running as any scifi show that’s ever been on television. Well… except for that one, but that doesn’t count.
This marks the 2,855th comic, but I’d say 60 of those are fan art or guest comics, but 138 bonus Monday comics have gone up too. That puts us at 2933. Just a few more days till the 3000 mark! So there’s another milestone coming up. We’re getting close to 5,000,000 hits for the site too, so that’s pretty awesome.

Well, technically, Red Dwarf was in production from 1987 to 2005ish. In actuality, it’s eight seasons from 1987 to 1999, then a special in 2009 and a series later on in 2012. So, depending on count thats either 12 years, 18 years or 25 years (and counting).
I should have said consecutive years, i guess.
I take it you’re not counting the various different Star Trek series as one then? TNG, DS9 and Voyager were on continuously from ’87 to ’01.

also i seriously lolled at the panel when everyone went silent looking at marty(heck i even imagined a few of them facepalmed) when the next panel showed the reason for the silence.
when you think about it bob and marty are the oldest known charaters known to us seeing they were the ones introduced in the first comic.

If I may ask… are you planning on reaching a twentieth?
I don’t have plans not to. I have ideas and plans in place at the moment for AT LEAST a season 14, but that’s not the planned end point. I don’t really have a planned end point. Whenever I decide I’m done I know how I’m going to end things, but I can put that in whenever that day comes. More than likely this comic will end when I feel I’ve exhausted things with it and I want to spend time on making a completely different LEGO comic and I’d like to have more time for that.
