You’d think they’d have something better than Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in the future, but no, we’ve already reached the pinnacle of wireless communication.

Does the Muffin have transporters? Is so they could just beam it off the ship and into whatever star happens to be closest to their current position.

well, that wouldn’t make for a very interesting comic, would it, now? Also, don’t astromech droids have maneuvering thrusters they could easily use to escape a star unless they were dropped off so close the ship dropping them off might also get pulled into the gravity field effects? 😀

    • CommanderBalok says:

They could also beam it into space and simply not reassemble it (they did this to an alien in the Original Series), but, again, not interesting. Also, they need a transporter pad on minimum one end of the transport in this era (some future Federation designs apparently do not require this), so they’d have to maneuver it to a transporter room, during which time it would be doing… what, I wonder?

How does Shauna manage to put up with these two? 😀

That would make for an interesting sub-plot in itself! 😉

  3. Patrick Chester says:

Well, maybe “wireless” uses FTL transmitters or similar in this universe. So an improvement over what’s available today. 😉

Exactly. WiFi doesn’t need to mean 802.11 (2.4GHz, 2 Mbit/s) or 802.11a (5GHz, 54 Mbit/s) – even we are already over that. 802.11ad already exists, uses 60 GHz and has speed up to 7 Gbit/s and it’s still WiFi. 802.11ay is being developed … so, let’s say that their WiFi will be something like 802.11eh.

Damn, I wish I could think of soimehtng smart like that!

Can Red take a look at it before Shauna activates it?
