The Alliance Army
The Alliance Army was the branch of the Unified Galactic Alliance Armed Forces which delt primarily with ground troops, planetary occupation, planet based combat, and strategic defense of property and personal. There were often Army contingents on board Alliance Navy vessels to aide in support and security.
History
Along with the Navy, Marines, and Air and Space Force, the Alliance Army was founded at the inception of the Alliance as a peacekeeping force for the Allied worlds. It quickly became mired in the bureaucracy that comes with all branches of the armed forces and took a secondary role to the Navy that manned the Alliance's starships.

The organization of Ranks in the Alliance Army was based on old Earth Army ranks.

Army uniforms were a standard grey for officers and normally some variety of white body armor for enlisted men and women. Designs of the armor changed with the introduction of new sets of army troopers and there is a great deal of variety based on temperature (Snow Troopers), specialization (Scout Troopers) and unique positions (Presidential guards). However, the majority of the army wore very similar uniforms and are distinguished very subtly.
Specialized groups of soldiers wore distinguishing uniforms, such as a medical security teams who wear uniforms of white and orange.
