The Force
The Force as it is described by the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi (Star Wars): 'The Force is an energy field created by all living things, that surrounds and penetrates living beings and binds the galaxy together.'
The Force enables several creatures, who are sensitive to it, to do extraordinary things like moving things without touching and manipulate the thoughts of other creatures (with a weaker mind). Belinda Reines used the force to slow falling speed.

Though the light side is usually simply refered to the Force this is the aspect of the Force used by the Jedi and other lightside Force users.

Those who have fallen to the dark side are corrupt and filled with hate and anger. It has been said that fear leads to the dark side, but as does greed, and lust for power.

The Living Force
Force Ghosts
Force Ghosts are spirits of Jedi who have passed beyond the veil but retained some of themselves as part of the living force.
