The Old Ones

The Old Ones are a race of extradimensional beings who came from beyond the universe eons ago and settled primarily on the hideous planet Yuggoth and its moons Nithon, Thog and Thok. Though many maintain summer homes on planets, including the non-euclidean city of R'lyeh beneath the seas of Earth.

Biology and Appearance

The Old Ones are not specifically a race in the same way that other races are. The Old Ones are instead a collection of beings who came once long ago when the universe was young from somewhere beyond. Their biology is diverse but often resembles arthropodian and cephalopodian biology and often a hideous mix of the two.
They are not capable of death in the same way that most other races are but instead enter states of hibernation and regeneration.
They have been speculated to interbreed with some younger races producing a variety of strange and hideous offspring, very few of which have succeeded in breeding true as species of their own. It is speculated that Giant Space Squids are in some way related to the Old One Cthulhu.

Culture and Society

As a whole the Old Ones do not maintain a specific culture. Though they have often been the objects of worship of other races, sometimes to their disdain. Their relationship with each other is usually familial, suggesting they all see each other as family regardless of appearance and heritage.

History

The Old Ones are one of the First Ones, the earliest sentients in the galaxy, they came long ago from "the Outer World" and have helped shape the galaxy, rumors exist that they fled "the Outer World" to escape the tyranny of a powerful being spoken of only as the King in Yellow. Once they often came in conflict with the Ancients, however they have diminished their role in recent eons, becoming mostly the things of myth and legend.

Behind the Scenes

  • The Old ones are the creation of H.P. Lovecraft?, however their depiction in Legostar Galactica is far more comical and less insanity inducing than how they are featured in Lovecraft's work.
