Plot Summary

Found footage from the Valerian? brought to the crew by Larry courtesy of Cthulhu indicated that something went horribly wrong before the ship vanished. As the ship began its voyage certain frames showed a creepy character in a cloak among the crowd. Reports reached the Captain about a strange wormhole that sent the Valerian far off course and he told his pilot to simply fix the problem and not panic the guests on the ship. As guests started disappearing the Captain tried to maintain order and assure them that everything was all right. When the bodies did start to turn up it appeared as if they had been killed by some kind of disease and that it was spreading, at last the Captain took action and instituted a quarantine, but it was not enough to contain the sickness and people continued to die. Ultimately a decaying corpse confronted the Captain and told him that it had been given all it wanted and several frames of the log showed the cloaked figure passing out of the corpse and into the Captain as he screamed and his voice changed to the madness induced rant of the corpse.
Back on the Muffin Larry explained that the King in Yellow drove everyone on the ship mad taking over their bodies and destroying them from the inside out. Larry also revealed that the King in Yellow sometimes used the body he was in to do the killing, suggesting he may have had a harder time entering some bodies. Larry also informed them that the King was likely working through a number of agents and they might have been responsible for the Valerian's disappearance. Captain Smith ordered Larry to get a message to Cthulhu to tow the Valerian back to Alliance space and Larry said he would also get some of the bodies for Belinda to study. This left them all with a goal, but with no idea where to move forward to.
