Warp Drive

Warp Drive was a form of faster than light travel that involved manipulating subspace around a ship to move it faster than light. It was slower than Hyper Drive but more versatile in possible destinations.

History

To escape the narrow structure of Hyper Space travel, Warp Drive was created. Instead of having to use established routes, Warp Drive allowed ships to travel from any point to point in space. While slower than Hyper Drive, Warp Drive offered a greater stability and allowed access to less frequently visited worlds.

Construction

Warp Drive relied heavily on Trihelium crystals which in combination with matter and anti-matter streams could produce a warp field allowing ships to travel faster than light.
