and I am not sure why, but my previous message have no `edit' or `quote' button.

I noticed because I wanted to add that all other strips works fine, a permission problem maybe?

aha, very strange, you also seem to have the same problem as a friend of mine that you don't see the google ad, the border around it and the border for the dropdown or webcomic lists, which all happen to be the same file, I'll wager you also don't see the border around the announcement on the main page. There has to be something about the settings on your browser that's doing that, but I have no idea how to fix it to make it okay on your browser. This may take some work.

Do they work in any of the forums? might be related to the problem on the main page, it's possible that for some reason some of the graphics aren't showing up for you, and I have no idea why. Could be a size of the graphics issue or something else.

This might be a good place to start...
But do not worry to much, it is only one picture and I saw it through its address from the xhtml code.

The buttons are correctly shown in every other message of mine (both buttons) or in other messages (quote button).
The only message without those buttons is that one, the one with the attachment.

I have been using the validator but some of the last few errors I can't figure out how to fix, most of which happen to be within the code of external links, so I'm not sure what to do about them and a couple more are burried somewhere in wordpress coding that I can't figure out how to access. I'm just trying to figure out why some people using firefox can see it and others can't, it isn't even a different browser issue, unless there's a version issue.

As for the buttons lost on the attachment, that I'm not sure about, I'll have to dig deeper.

Even using the utf-8 encoding there are few characters that should never appear in the source code outside their special uses.
In particular the characters `&' and `<' should appear only as entity reference and as starting of tag respectively.

If it is not the case, as inside links, you have always to use `&' and `<'

See here.

I'll take a look at the problems in the html this weekend then, thanks, that should help at least some of the issues, if you have any advice on how to solve any other issues, that would be great. I've done about all i can. There is some issues with a couple of graphics in the posts that I'm fixing, but it needs to be done post by post so that's taking a bit, but I know about those and I'm correcting them, there are just a few other errors that are giving me issues.

the last of the issues I was having with validating the main page has been resolved and now all the pages are validated, thanks to Imp and ezzetabi for all the help and pushing me to get it done.

ezzetabi, could you take a look at the page now and see if you were having the same problems as before.

The problems still persist. Maybe it is a firefox bug?

My browser version is:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090718 Shiretoko/3.5.1

Testing with some other browsers...
Opera/9.64 (X11; Linux i686; U; en) Presto/2.1.1
The 2009/07/05 picture shows fine: most probably a Firefox browser bug then.
Internet Explorer 6.0.2800
Works fine also, even more probably a Firefox bug.

and I also understood what happened to the disappearing buttons: the picture is large and push them too much in the right. Probably you should activate picture thumbs.
