I don't have as much time as I'd like to play Star Pirates but since I am writing a comic about the game and the game is sponsoring me full time I want to do it justice. So, members of the Legostars Fleet, or for that matter any Star Pirates players. What do you love about the game? What frustrates you about it? What should really make an appearance in Johnny, Skip, and Robin's travels through the game? Give me your suggestions and I'll see what I can do!

What frustrates me about Star Pirates is that I can barely qualify it as a game. Certainly, with most multiplayer games like this, you get out of it what you put into it. But the game, at its core, is little more than text and links (and very few graphics), and the gameplay involved is making your set of numbers bigger.

But, I've been playing long enough now that I've gotten over that hump - where now I can feel like I can make some progress now that my stats are high enough. And it plays right into my OCD-like behavior, so now I am compelled to make my numbers bigger.

 ...excuse me a moment...

Right! Where was I...

As for stories, I bet you could do something fun with the Regenebots. The fickle nature of the Officers. Gambling. Picking through space garbage. Labcoats. To name a few. :)

This Star Pirates thing (I can't qualify it as a game, sorry.) is a bit dull and uninviting. They really need a graphics engine, no game nowadays comes without one. Except Star Pirates - of course.

They may have a web page, but I am wondering why I only start out with a lowly 5 fuel and no way to upgrade my ship. I haven't joined the LegoStars fleet yet, because I'm still stuck in the "what the heck does this do" and "how the heck is this supposed to be entertainment" modes.

Oh, there's also the small problem of finding out when the LegoStars fleet is on ... Wouldn't be much point trying to play if you lot were all offline.

Cheers ...

While I was playing SP tonight, I cam across this tidbit of a story and thought you might could use it in the Star Pirates storyline.
[ ! ] Info Alert
Captain, it came to my attention that the emergency pods on your vessel were highly unsafe. As such, I launched them, along with your crew, for further tests. They're several hours overdue, but I'm sure it's nothing...

And then another.
[ ! ] Red Alert
Captain, I've uncovered a black market gambling ring onboard, being run by your crew! So...How much should I put you down for?

One more suggestion, if you haven't already thought of it, perhaps you can discover an officer in the comic and he/she can be some sort of weirdo that really helps your stats but winds up leaving in the following comic for some very strange reason

yeah I've had some officer experiences like that that are going in the comic. Thanks for all the great ideas!

If you'll accept suggestions from a rival fleet:

There must be a joke about Red and Mercy Kills

and

What happens when Johnny tries to visit the Lower Belt?
