Ensign Thadius Ryan
"Please say you're joking."--Ensign Ryan upon finding out that Shauna Finelli was his superior officer.
Ensign Thadius Ryan is an engineer on board the Alliance Star Ship Muffin. He is quiet and reserved and does what he is told. He has been somewhat confused by Colonel Finelli's attitude and handling of the engines but found her to be very good at what she does so he does not argue.
Biography
Early Childhood
Thadius Tiberius Ryan was born on Earth in San Fransisco. His childhood was very happy and normal and his parents encouraged him to do the best he could at everything he did. He was an average student in most of his subjects but found that he excelled in physics and math. He had a fascination with all things machanical from an early age and quickly took anything that he could apart to learn how it worked.
Secondary Education
Thadius joined the Alliance Navy right out of highschool and persued his degree in Engineering through the Navy. When he finished his training he was quickly assigned to his first post, the Muffin XFB-1981-B.
2350 and Beyond
Joining the crew
Thadius joined the crew after they received the XFB-1981-B and was shocked to see Shauna's enthusiasm. He continues to work as an engineering Ensign and helps Shauna maintain order.
In the background
Though many important events have gone on around Thadius, he generally stays in the background and avoids any of the main action. He has been sent on occasion to derelict parts of the ship where he encountered Crewman Kelzor. He has been sent on away missions and is often on missions with Tenka Nerok who bullies him excessively. He is regularly the butt of jokes by other members of the crew but he seems to take it in stride.
Personality Traits
Thadius is quiet and reserved and prefers to keep to himself. He likes his work but he isn't bouncing off the walls about it.
Associations
Thadius has been known to chat regularly with many members of the crew during his off hours, but he tends to keep mostly to himself. He spends a lot of time with Lieutenant Angus McGinnis and Ensign Tenka Nerok. He also runs a Dungeons and Dragons game on the Holodeck and plays Star Pirates. He has been, on occasion, forced to play Rataban by Tenka.
