The Church of Jebus
The Church of Jebus arose at an unspecified time in galactic history. There were those who believed that Jebus rose from the dead and that he sacrificed himself for the good of the galaxy. There were those who didn't believe this, but they were not part of the church of Jebus.
Belief in Jebus and his sacrifice was a core tenant of the Church of Jebus, but the church itself fractured many times over the millennia and spawned a number of sects who reinterpreted the word of Jebus in a number of different and sometimes alarming ways.
Wars were fought over the exact phrasing of what Jebus had said and many died in the pursuit of "enlightenment."
