I’d argue with her. She’s a doctor. Right or wrong, what she did was a fundamental violation of medical ethics as far as I understand things.
Which isn’t to say that her actions aren’t understandable, and it makes her perhaps a more interesting character. Just that, what she did, by the code of ethics she’s presumably sworn to follow, what she did was a complete no-no, and there should be consequences.
I agree with Bardic Nerd, she should be in big doo-doo right now. Besides me and her in a fight I would win I have friends lot’s and lot’s of powerfull friends.
i concur. anybody this dark and evil needs torture b4 you help them. i would do the same with hitler or sadam if i was alive and in right areas to capture them
How does torture help either their victims or act as a step toward their redemption or even as a step into making them less evil?
Torture an evil person and guess what, they will not see it as justified punishment for their bad ways, but as yet one more terrible injury they must endure for being so special and unique.
Torture would only work as a deterrent if, 1) They thought they would be caught in the evil they do, and people like Saddam and Hitler are to egotistical for them to consider that any lesser person could catch them, or would dare to harm them, and 2) You can convince them that the pain they suffer is in direct retaliation to the pain they’ve caused, and people like Hitler and Saddam believe that the pain they’ve caused doesn’t count because it was for a worthy cause, an end that justifies the means, or against people who are not real people, but figures who deserve it.
On a different note though: why are we assuming she’s sworn some kind of oath? Maybe she was home schooled and never swore any kind of Hyppocratic Oath.
Actually, I think you all are talking through the top of your hats. Doctors here have a zero tolerance policy of troublesome or abusive patients who attempt to stir up trouble while the medical staff are trying to administer treatment.
It therefore is logical that Dr. Belinda Reines neither has to feel any empathy towards cold hearted killers like him nor give prompt and efficient medical treatment. I reckon she let him off lightly, she could’ve hurt him real bad.
Given that she’s just giving him a taste of his own poison, I think he’d have to be pretty dumb not to see that the pain he suffers *is* in fact directly related to that he has inflicted — it might at least convince him that a less painful poison is in order!
This does raise the question of why they didn’t just sedate him before bringing him aboard. I mean, anybody who knows anything knows that transporting a dangerous prisoner is an opportunity for a breakout, even on a dedicated prison transport. A military vessel hardly seems like the best transport to me, even if they have a contingent of marines on board (which the Muffin doesn’t seem to). Even a troopship would probably have been better.

SHE IS IN A COMIC! anyways have you even read the alliance medical handbook?
NO?
I thought not.
I wouldn’t want to be the one arguing against her. She would’ve been quite capable of making his lifespan a lot shorter.
I think she has a good point. I matches with her caracter.

Is jail or the death sentence any different?
