DekketGary, Ambassador Hungrek

I considered having Dekket say something in the last panel, but honestly what do you say to something like that?

I didn’t put up anything yesterday because I felt it might get lost in all my blathering about the 10 year anniversary and I feel like it deserves some respect.  Neil Armstrong passed away yesterday.  We can all write and read and watch science fiction all day long, but that man was the first human being to set foot on the moon.  The Moon.  Until we get the first human to set foot on Mars or some other planet, he’s in a class by himself.  Rest in peace.

Is Embassador Hungrek blue, with large googly-eyes?

  2. Col. Tatticky says:

Hm… What to say to something like that?

“You’re not exactly Prime Rib yourself, buddy”?

  3. Pyradonis says:

I don’t know what to answer to that, but I sometimes say it to others. Mostly they just back off a few steps.

  4. BrickVoid says:

Neil Armstrong is in a capsule all his own now. May whoever follows in his footsteps live up to the achievements he and the staff at NASA made possible! :-)

    • SergeantLego says:

Even when someone finally does set foot on Mars, Neil will still be in a class by himself. I was watching a documentary about the early days of NASA and spaceflight with emphasis on the moon landing. The first thing the head of NASA says to the person doing the interview, when they entered the original Apollo control room is that his cell phone has more computing power than all of the computers in that room. If we send someone back to the Moon or Mars, it will be with all kinds of extra, and bonuses, but back in the day, they did it by basically taking aim and firing and hitting their target. Armstrong will NEVER be equalled.

  5. Charvale says:

    Ideas for a comeback:
“Better to be flank steak than Calamari.”
    or
    “Dick.”

  6. Willc says:

i wonder if Ambassador Hungrek is the same species as cafe grusome’s eathogs?

  7. SergeantLego nailed it there, Armstrong and his contemporaries set standards of determination and guts few could hope to willingly match. Also congrats and thanks to the good Doctor, what am i saying? the fracking AWESOME Dr Legostar for the amazing work so far. Thanks as well to everyone who’s commented, for extra laughs, nostalgia and pointing out stuff i’d missed at first glance, party on dudes!
