It’s very likely that Marty doesn’t fully grasp some of the concepts he’s reading about. He’s certainly not repeating them back correctly.
In panel 4 I wanted it to look like Bob was pinching the bridge of his “nose” but it mostly looks like he’s face palming. That works too, really.
