I just realized something. Using force lightning is a great energy weapon that doesn’t trigger the ship’s internal sensors. As Chekhov said in ST 6, using a phaser “would set off the alarm”.
I wonder if that is really such a good thing? It could be a great way to call for reinforcements, but then you couldn’t have the kind of fun Marty is having right now.
oh maybe knowing the number of jedi on the ship, including the main engineer, they have the sensors in some of the rooms tweaked a bit to allow certain actions freely? if not just a silent over ride button for when one is in a playful mood.
I’m just waiting for the point where he “offers” to help the guy find his fathers’ real killer. After all, it would be a “good” thing to do and he is an “ex-Sith”. They say “atonement” and “good” deeds are good for the soul, right?

Maybe when you want it to set off an alarm you do it twice in quick succession. Force lightning morse code?
Or you direct one of the jolts to hit the alarm device.
