Ensign Tenka Nerok, Ensign Cindy Wright

My wife and daughter have all of the Disney Princess LEGO sets.  I’m not playing this off, if they were mine I’d admit it, I’ve got a few friends things and at least one of those Elves sets, but The Disney Princess sets, much like the Toy Story sets are my wife’s (and my daughter’s), not mine.  In any case, while I do appreciate things like these dresses, it still makes me wish those mini dolls were more like or more compatible with minifigures.

At least the hands are compatible so you can still have Disney princesses with blasters.

The biggest problem with Friends minifigures is the complete lack of hand articulation. They can hold an item in a straight up or straight down orientation that can be rotated in a single axis around the shoulder joint, but can’t rotate it around the end of the arm where the hand is molded, therefore making them rather useless for posing in lightsaber duels or most hand-to-hand combat situations.

I suppose one could get creative with weapons that add degrees of rotation themselves, but the Friends minfigures are very badly articulated.

I’m hoping maybe sometime soon we’ll see a Minidoll 2.0 with increased articulation. Some fans have managed to mod them with articulated hands and legs so it is possible. Though the leg thing is trickier for any of the legs with dresses or skirts of course…

I was expecting a joke about all Minifigs having the same body and you subverted it magnificently, well done good sir!

Nice use of the disney figures.
